:: The Afro-Egyptian Human Rights Organization AEHRO
...We are a non-profit civil society organization led by apolitical professionals who strongly believe that all citizens empowered with monitoring can actively participate in public life and positively influence much needed improvements, at a moment in time where Africa & Egypt are experiencing a mild increase in the level of national & political awareness.
As such we believe it is our duty to help fellow citizens capture & harness the positive impact of these changes and use them to create a much more proactive society: one that is hardworking, responsible, inclusive & tolerant, a society that can choose its leaders and hold them accountable.
We pledge to act as a catalyst enabling positive transformations such as:
- To mobilize ordinary citizens – especially the youths- from all walks of life to engage on the reform problems facing their society (including executive branch domination of society, lack of judiciary independence, and corruption).
- To inculcate a "pro-democracy monitoring culture" combined with elements of consumer protection and advocacy campaigns amongst the citizens.
- Improve the civil society’s coordination ensuring that they work together synergistically towards a common goal.
